6.13.24 ~Recap~
Aaaaaannnnddd here we go :)…
CONGRATS to our winner, Nicholas, with 368 points
I started the night off strong by contributing a song that has been on my mind after it has played in several Orangetheory classes… Laura Branigan: Gloria GLORRIAAAGLORIAAA!
But then we were right into the Roulette with Correne tapping into 1972 and getting Chicago: I’ve Been Searching For So Long! Nicholas made sure we did not forget that their name came post-drama. “Formed in Chicago in 1967 as the “Big Thing,” the band's first producer, James Guercio, suggested the name “ Chicago Transit Authority, ” later shortened to “Chicago” after the CTA threatened to sue. Relocating to Los Angeles in 1968, the band signed to Columbia, releasing its first album in 1969.” [Source: Encyclopedia of Chicago]
& back to the contributions with Nicholas’ incredible performance of Western Flyer: What Will You Do With M-E… “Medical Examiner?” said J’awn.
Lou Rawls: You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine was another incredible performance by Chris, so good I wasn’t sure if he really had it or was pulling a Chris copy.
In classic Hit Clips fashion though we quickly pivoted back to the 2000s with Emy joining the chat, kicking off with rouletting to Gavin Rossdale: Love Remains The Same —> definitely recommend the comments on this music video like “if you're listening you're a real 1.” … this fandom should be grateful for Hit Clips showing the love. I continued the y2k party with Ja Rule ft. Ashanti: Mesmerize and when I asked for facts we pretty much called it at Emy’s… “Fyre Fest.”
And when back to Correne and she (it’s rare but it happens) didn’t know her roulette, Bay City Rollers: Money Honey, we were blessed with the party point of the #1 song of the year (1976)…
…a true Hit Clips favorite and one of my all-time <3 favorites <3, Wings: Silly Love Songs!!!! iiiiiiiiiiiiiluvvvvvvYOUUUUu
The vibes were high and continued with Chris bringing Earth Wind & Fire to the table, rouletting Earth Wind & Fire: That's the Way of the World. So we of course had to talk about the upcoming 21st night of September, & memories of Hit Clips that night last year HERE!!!
Parody alert from Nicholas: DO YOU REMEMBER? (September parody) during COVID-19 lockdown, “…they said it would be gone by September…”
Truly another night of iconic songs, see all listed below <3, including Evan racking up 100 points alone with Floetry: Say Yes
And our closer was another Hit Clips fave rouletted by Chris, Tony Orlando & Dawn: Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree and I reminded everyone how cool I was on a Yosemite tour when the tour guide pointed out an oak tree and I flexed my knowledge of this song to the group.
& thank you Chris for his fact about their TV show you can read more about here: Tony Orlando and Dawn (TV series) [Source: Wikipedia]
